Did you know that the Barn Owl used to be mistaken for a banshee? A banshee is a female spirit from Irish folklore whose mournful wailing is said to foretell death or misfortune. Due to the Barn Owl's piercing shriek and ghost-like appearance, they have been mistaken for this mythological creature. Featured in this video is one of our Barn Owls, aptly named Banshee.
