Chirping Chipmunk. I heard persistent chirping near the front porch from what I thought was a bird. When I went to check it out, I found it was a Chipmunk making the noise. You may have to turn up the volume to hear it. Chipmunks chirp to warn of danger but also females chirp to attract a mate. Since there were no cats in the yard, it appears this one was looking for a mate. Just what we need—a new litter of these pesky rodents! | Georgia Backyard Nature
