Just finished longarming this beauty! My “Visitor Among the Roses” is a perky black bird who enjoys the giant blooms. I’ve used the Lovely Loops pantograph from Sew Shabby Quilting. I’m wondering, should I leave the pretty lacy loops of stitching on my bird’s body as cream or color in the stitches with a micron marker to make the birds body completely black? What do you think? I’ll share a full image of quilting soon! The Halloween group of Coven will ship next summer. #visitoramongtherosesquilt

It’s Robin Pickens still and I’m sharing my all-Thatched quilt from Moda Blockheads 3. With sew along samplers, I usually try to work to some type of color arrangement that I decide in the beginning. Then as the blocks are released each week I work on filling in the spaces. My composition idea was rainbow bands of color and working from dark to light as I traveled across the rows to create an ombre effect with light.
