The world around you consists of only three particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons and neutrons form the nuclei of atoms, and electrons glue everything together and create chemicals and …
Elementary particle physics addresses the question, “What is matter made of?” on the most fundamental level—which is to say, on the smallest scale of size. It’s a remarkable fact that matter at the …
Protons, electrons, neutrons, neutrinos and even quarks are often featured in news of scientific discoveries. All of these, and a whole "zoo" of others, are tiny sub-atomic particles too small to be …

Particles
Particles make up all matter in the Universe. The three particles that make up these types of matter are atoms, molecules and ions. Different types of matter can have different types of particles.
One can treat individual particles, as before; i.e.,one can draw FBD for each particle, define a coordinate system and obtain an expression of the absolute acceleration for the particle.
how closely together the particles are arranged. substance is most dense as a solid, as the particles are closely packed together, and least dense as a gas, as the particles are spread far apart.
In later sections we will apply this analysis to the case of solid objects, in the approximation that all the particles in the object have a fixed spatial relation to each other.
