Now I have already turned off their gracious "complementary" safety connect/service connect but I am almost positive my truck's data can still be accessed by Toyota remotely if they desired.

Oct 24, 2011 · The GPS antenna has to also be installed inside the Dash. You also have to purchase the GM DVD navigation disc separately, navigation maps are not preloaded on the units. I personally found the factory GPS unit to be unimpressive relative to the price and features of other aftermarket units. I went with a Pioneer.

Sep 22, 2021 · Yep I got it also, tossed in the trash. Too pricey also. My old memory says it was over $100 . GM update will not be as current as your phone is. Long time GPS user doing home service and even my Garmin's updated regularly didn't have new developments and roads in it. Phone was pretty good on newer roads but it still was lacking.

Nov 3, 2015 · Hello, I am the proud new owner of a 2016 Tacoma double cab Limited in Super White.....and new to this forum. My truck will not initialize the GPS. The clock does not work since its getting a feed from the GPS. Also on the Navigation page, the GPS status on the top left of the screen has a red diagonal thru GPS.

Apr 5, 2008 · Thanks for the info guys. They should make the nav system and On-star totally independent of eachother. I currently have a Magellan GPS Unit, with turn by turn voice prompts, and it's great. The only problem is, you have to mount it to the window with a suction mount when you want to use it.

Apr 26, 2015 · That's a brilliant and simple mod. I used to have a GPS (before the age of smart phones) in about that position on my old '92. My mounting was a bit more hokey. This looks like a great, clean mounting point for the Tacoma. Will be doing this one for sure!
