Cumberland Mountain, not to be confused with the Cumberland Mountains within which it resides, is a long ridge extending from northeastern Tennessee, southeastern Kentucky and southwestern Virginia. Its peak forms the boundary between Kentucky and Virginia in some areas.

The Cumberland Gap is a pass in the eastern United States through the long ridge of the Cumberland Mountains, within the Appalachian Mountains and near the tripoint of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Within the eastern US, the Cumberland Mountains stretch from West Virginia and Virginia to the north, through Kentucky, and south into Tennessee. The range is approximately 131 miles (211 km) long and about 20 mi (32 km) wide.

I only saw the sites at Sea Camp, which is the closest campground to the ferry dock, but they were beautiful.
