Colorado has seen 16 people caught, 10 buried, one injured and two die after a series of major mountain snowstorms.

The victim was traveling on a terrain feature known as The Nose near Silverton, Colo., when the avalanche occurred on Thursday, officials said.

The 41-year-old woman was snowboarding with another person in Middle Fork Mineral Creek, known locally as “The Nose,” when she was caught and buried in the avalanche.
