The full moon occurs on the 9th in the constellation of Aquarius — the Perseid meteor showers peak from August 11-13. Venus and Jupiter conjoin for a summer kiss as the two planets will shine bright together at just a degree apart on August 11 and 12, according to NASA. The two planets will be visible to the east before sunrise.

Stargazers have a chance to get a good look at the Milky Way and summer constellations in the night skies this August. Some of the planets are beginning to reappear – and one of the best meteor showers of the year, the Perseids, will be on display.

Skygazers have had a lot to look at recently. A couple of dueling meteor showers graced the skies earlier this week, but if you missed that then you can still catch perhaps the most popular meteor shower of the year: the Perseids meteor shower.
