A Greenville businessman is the first Republican to announce a bid to take on U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham next year. Mark Lynch, owner of Jeff Lynch Appliance Center, officially kicked off his campaign Monday at the store his father founded more than 70 years ago.

Protestors gathered at the local office of a U.S. Senator from the Upstate. Almost 100 people protested outside Lindsey Graham’s office in Pendelton, Saturday.

Lynch, from Duncan, runs Jeff Lynch Appliance and TV Center, a Greenville business. He is running against Lindsey Graham, who seeks a fifth term in office.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said President Trump’s imposition of tariffs against the nation’s biggest trading partners “is designed to get these countries to change their behavior.”
