José Ramírez sets Cleveland record with 27th multihomer game, leads Guardians to 4-3 victory
José Ramírez knew when he was 15 years old and growing up in the Dominican Republic that he could end up being a pretty good home-run hitter.
José Ramirez became Cleveland’s leader in multihome run games with a drive to right field in the eighth inning as the Guardians defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3
Ramírez surpassed Cleveland legends Albert Belle and Jim Thome, who each had 26 multi-homer games while playing for Cleveland. His record-breaking performance included a first-inning solo shot off Marlins starter Janson Junk and a decisive eighth-inning blast against reliever Calvin Faucher that broke a 3-3 tie.

Jose Ramirez might not have the traditional stature of a power hitter, but he keeps breaking homer-related franchise records. He did it again Aug. 12.

Guardians beat Marlins, 9-4, as José Ramírez zooms past Kenny Lofton on all-time runs scored list
José Ramírez collected three hits and scored three runs, moving past Kenny Lofton for third place on the Guardians’ all-time runs scored list in a 9-4 win Thursday against the Marlins at Progressive Field.
The Guards jumped out to a 3-0 lead yesterday with the help of back-to-back Ramirez and Manzardo homers. Too many walks and some slightly shaky defense allowed the Marlins back in it, at 3-3. The Marlins did not learn from their 3-0 hole, and pitched to Jose again in the 8th. Home run pitch. 4-3.
