The letter comes nearly six years after Swift announced on "Good Morning America" that she would be re-recording her first six albums from her former label in order to take ownership of the records that made her a household name.

In a letter posted on her website on Friday, Swift announced that she had bought the masters, or original recordings, of her first six albums from Shamrock Capital nearly six years after her former record label, Big Machine Records, sold them to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings in what she described at the time as her “worst case scenario.”

Taylor Swift is now the proud owner of her entire catalog of music, roughly six years after she protested the sale of her master recordings by her former record label.
