The Google Pixel 9a has a few pretty interesting camera changes this year. First off, the primary sensor has been changed to a 48-megapixel with a 1/2″ sensor size. That means it is smaller and has less resolution than the Pixel 8a.

At the heart of the Pixel 9a is Google’s latest Tensor G4 chip, which gets paired with 8GB of RAM. Don’t expect screaming fast raw performance to take on the latest Snapdragon or Apple A-series chips, but do expect capable performance of the kind we’ve seen in the main Pixel 9 models, as well as responsive AI features.
