Glenridge Hall in Sandy Springs was demolished on Thursday. The Glenridge Hall Family Office is selling the property to developer Ashton Woods despite a public outcry.

His great-granddaughter, Caroline Glenn Mayson, now controls it. Glenridge Hall is on the National Registry of Historic Places. It was also named to the list of Places in Peril by the Georgia Trust.

Furniture, tapestries and other fine art from the historic Sandy Springs mansion known as Glenridge Hall are scheduled to be auctioned in March, a New Orleans auction company said Wednesday.
