As Israel remains deadlocked with Hamas over key issues, Gaza’s future after the war ends appears no closer to a resolution.

Arab foreign ministers are aiming to travel to Washington “within weeks” to present US President Donald Trump with a “solid” proposal to rebuild Gaza without displacing the Palestinian population, Jordanian official sources told CNN.

Arab leaders meeting in Cairo on Tuesday endorsed a counterproposal to U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for the Gaza Strip to be depopulated of Palestinians and transformed into a beach destination, even as the continuation of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire is uncertain.

Arab League states approved an Egyptian proposal for a phased reconstruction plan that would keep Palestinians in Gaza while excluding Hamas from governing.

Arab states adopted an Egyptian plan calling for a “technocratic committee” to administer the Gaza Strip under the umbrella of the Palestinian Authority as part of a broader two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The proposal, endorsed by Arab leaders at a summit in Cairo, is their alternative to President Donald Trump's idea for the US to take over Gaza and permanently resettle its population. The Palestinian Authority and Hamas welcomed the Arab plan,
