At least one potential buyer was reportedly stunned when the Pohlad family decided to maintain their ownership of the Minnesota Twins.

The Pohlad family’s decision to not sell the Twins comes after a rocky stretch for the team, and chairman Joe Pohlad told the Minnesota Star Tribune that they understand fans might be skeptical at the turn of events.

After exploring a variety of options over the past 10 months, the Pohlad family will remain the principal owner of the club and add new investors instead. Carl Pohlad, a banking magnate and the late grandfather of Joe Pohlad, purchased the Twins in 1984 for $44 million.
