A shelter-in-place order was lifted Thursday evening for residents near a wildfire that started early in the day along Interstate 5 in northern Los Angeles County. The order included a recreational-vehicle park near the King Fire’s ignition site. Beyond the shelter-in-place zone, evacuation warnings were issued.
The King Fire just north of Pyramid Lake off the 5 Freeway had grown to 577 acres and is now 40% contained as of Friday, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.
