Team India's pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is not part of the side's playing XI for their 2025 Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday, February 20.

The Indian bowler, despite being named in the original squad, failed to make the cut due to a lower back injury. Harshit Rana has been named as the replacment for Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah had been dealing with the injury since the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney, Australia last month.

Further, the BCCI replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal with Varun Chakravarthy in the Champions Trophy squad. The board has also named three non-traveling substitutes: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube.
