The United States Postal Service will honor former president Jimmy Carter with a new forever stamp. USPS held a special ceremony on Saturday in Carter’s hometown of Plains, Ga. with members of the Carter family and their friends in attendance. The stamp will feature a 1982 oil painting of the 39th president.

Jimmy Carter, who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981, died on December 29, 2024, at age 100.

PLAINS, Ga. — The United States Postal Service is honoring former President Jimmy Carter with a stamp on what would have been his 101st birthday. The USPS said it will be released on Carter’s birthday, Oct. 1.
