Doug Ghim has the 36-hole lead for the first time in his six years on the PGA Tour. The Illinois native holed out from the fairway for eagle for the second straight day at the John Deere Classic.

The 29-year-old golfer played a great first round with 62 shots, and seems to be well on his way to winning his first PGA Tour title.

Doug Ghim jumped on the course early Thursday, posting a 62 to take a one-shot lead after 18 holes. Max Homa and Austin Eckroat were a shot back. For Homa, his 63 is his best first-round score on the PGA Tour. Those two keep the pedal down Friday, with Ghim holding the outright lead and Homa not far behind.
