Golden State Warriors fans have been anxiously waiting to see the team make a splash during free agency, but nothing of substance has happened yet. One name that's been heavily rumored to join the team for months has been Boston Celtics big man Al Horford.

The Celtics open their regular season by hosting the 76ers on Oct. 22 at TD Garden. Notably, the Celtics won’t play on Christmas Day for the first time since 2015. Of the five holiday games, only one of them feature East teams.

The Celtics will welcome a pair of departed starters back to Boston in back-to-back games in late January. Jrue Holiday and the Portland Trail Blazers will come to town on Monday, Jan. 26, with Kristaps Porzingis and the Atlanta Hawks following suit on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Per senior ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne in a recent social media post, "while Bill Chisholm will technically be the Celtics Governor, he and ... Grousbeck plan to run the team together as originally planned." This will have Chisholm as the team's official governor and Grousbeck serving as an alternate governor, according to Shelburne.

Former Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck will no longer stay on as governor after selling the team to Bill Chisholm, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Tuesday.

Grousbeck, who is selling the franchise to a group led by Bill Chisholm, was originally set to remain in place until 2028
