Bangladesh's interim leader Muhammad Yunus has said national elections will take place in the first half of April next year.

Fighting broke out in Dhaka between supporters of the ruling party, the Awami League, and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Protests were timed with the first anniversary of controversial elections.
