Ebola, Uganda and WHO
A 4-year-old child became the second person to die this year of Ebola in Uganda, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Saturday, in a setback for health officials who had hoped for a quick end to the outbreak that began at the end of January.
Uganda's Ebola cases have increased to 12, with two additional deaths considered probable cases. The WHO reported the death of a four-year-old boy and listed his mother and sibling as probable cases.
A second illness cluster has been identified in Uganda's Ebola Sudan outbreak, with the latest cases linked to the recently reported death of a 4-year-old boy from the virus, officials from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said today.
