Ohio State has embraced their new rivalry with Lou Holtz, and some Buckeyes fans trolled the legendary Notre Dame coach with an awesome sign during the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday night.

Former Notre Dame head coach, Lou Holtz, is at it again. The former Fighting Irish head coach loves to keep his name in the headlines any way he can, and now he’s using a beef with Ohio State’s Ryan Day to do just that.
"Where is Lou Holtz?"  That question is going to be asked all week leading up to the College Football Playoff championship game between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 8 Ohio State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday.
Ohio State RB Chip Trayanum plowed through the middle of Notre Dame's defensive line for a 1-yard touchdown on third-and-goal with one second left on the clock to seal the win. During a postgame interview with the NBC broadcast, Day, unprompted, went off on Holtz in a clip that went instantly viral.
It should be noted Holtz was an assistant at Ohio State during the 1968 championship season under Woody Hayes, so he has a little Scarlet and Gray in him as well.
Ohio State and Notre Dame will square off in the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan 20 in Atlanta.

Holtz, 88, reignited their feud last week on X when he wrote that, “If Notre Dame doesn’t win, it’s because we want to preserve Ryan Day’s job. I was originally going to be at the game in spirit, but now I’ll be dragging my body along as well.” He was responding to a tweet wondering if he would attend the showdown.
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has led the Irish to a remarkable 2024-25 season. His Irish team overcame an early-season loss to Northern Illinois, and hasn't lost since, wi
