Houston Rockets, coming off an impressive season, aimed to solidify their roster for a strong NBA playoff run by pursuing a high-profile trade involving one of the Phoenix Suns’ star, Kevin Durant.

"To steal a page from the Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix would receive back its own 2025 and 2027 first-round picks. Those two picks were initially traded to Brooklyn when Durant joined Phoenix two years ago, and then again traded to Houston this past summer. The 2025 pick would be projected to land in the lottery.

Along with Durant, Marks also has Phoenix sending center Bol Bol and guards Monte Morris and Damion Lee to Houston. In exchange for the four players, the Suns would get forwards Dillon Brooks, Cam Whitmore, Jae'Sean Tate and Jeff Green, center Jock Landale, and two first-round picks (2025, 2027).

Despite their strong record and Green’s breakout, skepticism lingers over whether the Rockets' success is sustainable. Young teams often face growing pains in the playoffs, where experience and composure are critical. If the Rockets falter early, it could validate concerns that they should have pursued a star to pair with their youthful core.
