The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver John Metchie III in a trade with the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Eagles made the trade official on Monday. The Eagles traded tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick in exchange for Metchie and a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Metchie caught five of eight targets for 45 yards while adding 23 yards on one kickoff return in Houston's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings in Week 1. Philadelphia officially announced the move on Monday, reuniting Metchie with DeVonta Smith and other former Alabama teammates.
