The Tampa Bay Rays couldn't do anything against future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander for seven innings, but they rallied in the eighth to steal a 2-1 victory from the San Francisco Giants Saturday. Veterans Yandy Diaz and Brandon Lowe had the big hits.

Chandler Simpson laced a single to reach base the batting average way, turning the order over to last night’s hero, Yandy Diaz. Once again, Yandy comes through with late inning clutch base hit, tying the game with a single to right center.

Right-hander Landen Roupp pitched three-plus innings in his first start back from the injured list, allowing five earned runs and striking out five batters.
