And even though it was on the National Register and Georgia Trust placed Glenridge Hall on its 10 “Places in Peril” for 2015, there was nothing to protect the mansion from demolition.

The owner says it would cost nearly $11M to bring Glenridge Hall up to code. The price would rise to at least $25M to make it an event venue. The mansion is scheduled to be torn down later this year.

His great-granddaughter, Caroline Glenn Mayson, now controls it. Glenridge Hall is on the National Registry of Historic Places. It was also named to the list of Places in Peril by the Georgia Trust.
