Despite a strong pocket of objections, Dixie School District trustees voted 3 to 1, with one abstention, on Tuesday to adopt a new district name: Miller Creek Elementary School District.

So far, two schools — Dixie Elementary and Lexington Traditional Magnet School — have been recommended for immediate name changes. No decisions have been made yet, district officials said Friday.
