Coca-Cola has recalled a number of its drinks from UK shelves, including Coca-Cola, Coca Cola Zero and Diet Coke, due a safety risk. The drink giant is recalling several of its canned drinks because they may contain elevated levels of Chlorate. As a result, the drinks pose a “food safety risk”, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned.

Following regular testing overseas that found high levels of chlorate, a substance that can obstruct the body’s ability to absorb iodine, a “small number” of Coca-Cola and Appletiser cans have been recalled in the UK.
