Volute and diffuser pumps draw liquid into the impeller at its center and fling it outward by centrifugal force. The liquid leaves the impeller with higher pressure and velocity than when it entered.

(note: "talked about" means wrote a blog post) In thinking about centripetal forces, I realized that I could come up with a situation in which the centrifugal force is the centripetal force.
