The Willow Run bomber plant helped the US win World War II and was later a transmission plant for General Motors. Can it find a third act as a mobility hub?

I’ve seen this particular picture many times over the years. On each occasion, I wonder if my father wound up flying in one of the bombers in those assembly lines.

Featured are two of the U.S. Army Air Corps four-engine bombers; a B-24 Liberator and a B-29 Superfortress. During WWII, B-24s carried a crew of 10-11 men, the B-29s carried a crew of 10-12.
