The Razzies, as they are commonly known, have been criticized as catty, cruel and sophomoric, but they endure because they offer an antidote to Hollywood’s ever-expanding season of self-congratulation.

The nominees for the best of the worst of cinema – the awards known as the Razzies – were released Tuesday, and the oft-derided "Joker" sequel led the pack.
