The launch will see India’s GSLV rocket, for the first time, inject a satellite into a Sun Synchronous Polar Orbit, an orbit in which the satellite will scan over the same point on Earth at the same time each day.

A new Earth-observing satellite, built by NASA and India’s space agency, will be sent into orbit on Wednesday.

The Indian Space Research Organisation is preparing to launch the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite. The launch is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:40 pm using the GSLV-F16 rocket. This mission aims to scan the entire Earth every 12 days.
