Paramount Motion Picture group chief Michael Ireland will be departing Paramount amid the studio’s merger with Skydance, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Sources say he will consult for the studio and is considering an offer for a producing deal.

EXCLUSIVE: With the Skydance merger expected to close on Thursday, the exec shuffle continues at Paramount Studios as sources tell Deadline that Motion Picture Group Chief Mike Ireland is exiting the studio.

Ireland and Cercek would go on to lead Paramount in 2022 to its best year at the box office since 2014, with nearly $1.3 billion in domestic grosses. That bonanza was led by the studio’s second-highest grossing film of all time, “Top Gun: Maverick,” a Skydance co-production on which Don Granger served as executive producer.
