The latest fight to remove fluoride from drinking water arrived in one of Florida’s biggest counties on Wednesday but was pushed back in a close vote. Keeping fluoride out of drinking water has quickly become a priority once again for Republicans across the state and nation.

Hillsborough County will not follow the examples of some other communities in the state and will keep fluoride in the drinking water, at least for now.

The recent string of Florida cities and counties removing fluoride from their drinking water got interrupted Wednesday when a proposal to do the same in Hillsborough County died. County commissioners deadlocked in a 3-3 tie (the seventh member of the board,
