The Browns’ third-round selection completed 13 of 18 passes for 143 yards and an interception while rushing for one yard and getting sacked twice. Gabriel looked poised early, controlling the offense and even aligning wide receiver Jamari Thrash into the right spot.
Browns rookie Dillon Gabriel clarified a comment he made that was taken as a slight toward fellow rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Gabriel, 24, had a decent showing during Cleveland’s 22-13 win over Philadelphia, completing 13-of-18 passes for 173 yards. The third-round selection did, however, throw an interception in the second quarter, which the Eagles returned for a touchdown.
The talented lefty quarterback gets a chance in the second week of the preseason. He starts for the Browns against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. He's certainly got quite the collegiate pedigree to call upon. The Cleveland Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel late in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He went No. 94 overall.
