President Trump's team is no longer aiming for big trade deals with many countries, according to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday. Instead, they are trying to make smaller, quick agreements before July 9,

But the level of trade success Trump will have achieved by next week looks to fall short of his goals. Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro touted “90 deals in 90 days” in April. As the deadline approaches though, others in the Administration are lowering expectations.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said trade talks could yield multiple deals by Sept. 1, citing a new U.S.-China agreement on rare earth shipments.
