The declaration from Trump comes after he said over the weekend that he had spoken to the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand, urging a ceasefire, adding the U.S. would not get back

"The U.S. already flunked the test and that should be a wakeup call," a former senior U.S. State Department official told Newsweek.

The conflict is one of the deadliest clashes ever between the two countries. Thirty-four people have died, and over 165,000 have been displaced.
